Privacy Policy Addendum — Cardia Apps
This addendum applies to all apps in the Cardia ecosystem, including Cardia Mind, Cardia Heart,
Cardia Sleep,
Cardia Steps, Cardia Hydrate, Cardia Fuel, Cardia Care, and any future Cardia-branded apps ("Cardia
Apps").
Data We Collect
Cardia Apps do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external
servers. All data
remains on your device and, if enabled, syncs via your personal iCloud account.
The following data may be created and stored locally on your device only, depending
on which
Cardia App you use:
- Voice Transcriptions — Speech is processed on-device using Apple's Speech
Recognition framework. Audio is never recorded, stored, or transmitted. Only the resulting text
transcription is saved locally.
- Health & Wellness Logs — Stress levels, mood entries, sleep records, step
counts, hydration logs, nutrition data, and other wellness metrics you manually log or that are
measured by the app.
- Breathing & Session Records — Duration and completion status of guided
breathing, meditation, or relaxation sessions.
- HealthKit Data — Heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), step count, sleep
analysis, and other health metrics accessed and written with your explicit permission via Apple
HealthKit. This data is governed by Apple's HealthKit privacy policies.
- Location Data — If you enable location-based features (e.g., Mood Map),
approximate location may be tagged to your entries. Location data is stored locally and never
transmitted.
- Camera Data — Some Cardia Apps use the camera for pulse or biometric
measurement. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
- Check-in & Streak Data — Daily check-in responses, streaks, and achievement
progress.
Third-Party Services
Cardia Apps do not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking
SDKs. We do not
use Google Analytics, Firebase, Facebook SDK, or any similar services.
iCloud Sync
If iCloud is enabled on your device, your app data may sync across your Apple devices via your
personal iCloud
account. This sync is managed entirely by Apple and is subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.
Camera & Microphone
- Camera is used solely for optional biometric measurement features (e.g., pulse
detection via VitalCam). No images or video are stored or transmitted.
- Microphone is used solely for on-device voice transcription. Audio is processed
in real-time and immediately discarded — it is never recorded or stored.
Data Deletion
All your data can be deleted by uninstalling the app or by using the "Reset All Data" option in
Settings (where
available). To remove iCloud-synced data, disable iCloud sync for the respective Cardia App in your
device settings.
Children's Privacy
Cardia Apps do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. All apps are rated 4+ and do not
contain
objectionable content.
